The 9th annual WMSE Big Band Grandstand is here!The enchanting evening commences with a special DJ set by WMSE's very own Dewey Gill, followed by Gunhild Carling, the virtuoso known for her trombone, bagpipes, trumpet, recorder, and string instrument mastery. Gunhild, with her big band accompaniment, showcases her musical prowess, often combining multiple instruments within a single song, all while effortlessly transitioning into tap dance and vocals.As always, proceeds from the Big Band Grandstand support the upkeep of WMSE's studios, digitization of the station's jazz library, and powers the WMSE Live Jazz stream 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
